Dr Shri Sachindada Dharmadhikari inspires a wave of service in Hayward, California

On June 28, 2026, dedicated volunteers of the global nonprofit organization Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan (DSNDP) conducted an Adopt-A-Street cleanliness drive in collaboration with the Maintenance Services Department, City of Hayward. The cleanup was carried out along Kay Avenue, Hayward, California 94545, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Nine volunteers participated in the initiative, cleaning approximately 1.8 miles of roadway and collecting 4 bags of litter weighing 100 pounds, helping improve the local environment and public spaces.

Inspired by the guiding principle “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — meaning “The world is one family” — DSNDP has been actively organizing nationwide cleanliness drives in collaboration with U.S. government agencies since July 2022. These initiatives are conducted under the leadership and guidance of the organization’s founders, Dr. Shri Appasaheb Dharmadhikari and Dr. Shri Sachindada Dharmadhikari.

Earlier in California, the organization successfully conducted several environmental initiatives, including Adopt-A-Ramp, Adopt-A-Highway, Adopt-A-Beach, and other community cleanliness programs across 13 cities. These efforts engaged 570 volunteers, who collected 687 bags of waste, resulting in the removal of approximately 10,305 pounds of trash, making a meaningful contribution toward cleaner and healthier communities.

DSNDPAcross the North American continent, DSNDP continues to collaborate with 19 states and 80 cities across the United States for nationwide cleanliness drives through 27 different environmental programs, including Adopt-A-Highway, Adopt-A-Park, Adopt-A-Beach, Adopt-A-Street, Adopt-A-River, and similar initiatives. Through these efforts, the organization has successfully engaged 4,863 volunteers, who have collectively removed approximately 70,800 pounds of trash, resulting in significant cost savings for government agencies. In recognition of these sustained community service efforts, DSNDP has received

67 certificates of appreciation and 97 official recognition signboards from various state, county, and local government authorities across the nation.

In addition to environmental stewardship, DSNDP actively promotes tree plantation and conservation initiatives across 18 states and 39 cities in the United States. The organization also conducts numerous public health initiatives, including the Women’s Cancer Awareness Conference and multiple blood and plasma donation drives throughout the United States and Canada.
