DUBAI: A leading German manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems has opened a unit in India following a growing demand for its products in the country.
The German company voxeljet has established the new voxeljet subsidiary in Pune as part of its plan to expand global presence.
The global popularity and acceptance of the 3D printing technology has led to growing interest in 3D printers and on-demand parts services on the part of the Indian industry, the company said.
“After the UK, the US and China, the subsidiary in India represents the next big step in voxeljet’s global growth strategy,” voxeljet COO Rudolf Franz, said.
One of the world’s leading providers of industrial 3D solutions, voxeljet wants to build up a strong market position in India, the company said.
Nidhi Shah is the Managing Director of the new unit which will seek to promote the development of an operational presence in the market.
The company also plans to establish a service center for the on-demand manufacture of 3D-printed molds within the next 18 months. The first phase will focus on the development of the sales and service structure.
It will also attend an international foundry exhibition to be held in Coimbatore from January next year.
Founded on May 5, 1999, voxeljet has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2013.–PTI
