GOPIO-LA elects new President

LONG BEACH, CA: Global Organization of People of Indian Origin, Los Angeles Chapter (GOPIO-LA) met at Long Beach to kick start the new year with new executive committee taking over the reins of day-to-day operations of this chapter.

Previously, GOPIO-LA members met in Artesia to elect the new executive committee. The following members were elected unanimously as the new officers for two years term from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.GOPIO-International Vice President Kewal Kanda administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected officers.

In the first meeting of the new executive committee the tentative agenda for the year 2024 was discussed and a few programs approved such as American Red Cross Blood Donation Camp for February 11, and an India Festival 2024 for May 19. The blood donation Camp will be held at Buena Park Gurdwara on Orangethorpe Ave. The India festival location will be decided in next meeting as more details become available. More programs will be planned in future meetings. It was also decided to collaborate with other organization to participate or support community projects that fit in our agenda. The executive committee also decided to continuing with our yearly signature event – Diabetes Reversal Summit, in collaboration with our parent organization GOPIO-International.
