FOG/FIA 77th India Republic day Celebrations along with FOG Telugu Sankranthi festival segment was a overwhelming success with 3000 people attended and it was hosted and organized by FOG/FIA Chair Cultural JyotsnaVijayaLakshmi Sharma under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Romesh Japra, founder of FOG with 800 dancers with their groups performed with patriotic Republic day and special dances by FOG Telugu groups celebrating Sankranti on FOG 77th Republic day event held on Saturday, Jan 24th, 2026 from 11:30 am-6.30 pm in Hayward.
Dr. Romesh Japra, founder of FOG, President Rajesh Verma and FOG Cultural chairperson Jyotsna, Media Chair Ritu Maheswari successfully executed the event, and distributed Certificate of appreciation to all dance performers. The event was attended by Consul General Srikar Reddy, Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan along with several political dignitaries, who ceremonially lit the lamp and appreciated the FOG Republic Day and FOG Sankranthi celebrations.
FOG Republic day cultural segment is filled with dance performances of multiple age groups performing dances blending Indian dance styles with Bollywood, semi classical and Classical.
JyotsnaVijayaLakshmi Sharma Chair Cultural along with her team Cultural Directors Shubadha/Ramya/Abhilash and co-directors Hemangini, Mayura, Harsha, Jyothi, Usha , Shabeena and few more volunteers helped on Saturday who did an outstanding job managing backstage for smooth execution of the cultural segment. All dance teams were very happy to perform as part of the event and received lots of applause and certificates.
Special attraction of the event was the showstopper FOG Telugu Sankranthi segment choreographed and supervised by Jyotsna Ji and Shubadha for famous Sankranthi Telugu song blockbuster Pongal from sankranthiki vastunamu Movie and Marathi Sankranti song.
Sankranthi segment focused on showing the significance of the festival, like harvesting, rangoli, kite flying, bonfire and community bonding.
Next segment is a fashion show with Republic Day songs full of patriotism. It’s a day to salute the spirit of our constitution and the strength of our democracy. Kids & ladies dressed up in traditional attires representing unity in diversity and participated in a fashion show on stage and followed by flash mob dance with vibrant energy.
At the end of event, Chairperson JyotsnaVijayaLakshmi Ji expressed her gratitude for Dr. Romesh Japra Ji and Special Thanks to Rajesh Verma Ji, and whole FOG Team for the immense support and appreciated FOG Cultural team and FOG Telugu team members for their efforts to make event successful.
