KPS of Chicago organizes summer picnic

CHICAGO: More than 800 members and guests attended picnic organized by Kadva Patidar Samaj (KPS) of Chicago at Busses Forest, South Northwest in Elk Grove Village on July 1.

The picnic began with Walkathon at 8 am. KPS board members headed by President Manoj Patel shared information about forthcoming events. On September 30 there will be Health Camp followed by Navratri in October and Diwali party in November. Secretary Vijay Patel briefed the members about the report of year 2017 while Treasurer Satish Patel furnished details about income statement of year 2017.

Jatin Patel, KPS Trustee and game sponsor, announced games for kids, teens and adults. The games included Rope Pull, Limbu Chamcha, Kothra Doad, and Water Ball. Prizes were given to winners. In the afternoon KPS volunteers served appetizers like mix pakora, corn, donuts, and masala tea and coffee followed by ice cream from sponsor Manoj and Mega Patel, Water Melon from sponsor Himansu and Shilpa Patel and Satish and Heena Patel.

After five in the evening Indian cuisine – Puri, Chhole Bhature, rice, Kadhi, and Gulab Jamun – were served. Manoj Patel thanked food committee members like Vijay Patel, Narendra Patel, Rajesh Patel, Bhagyesh Patel, Harshad Patel, Bharat Patel, Chhotubhai Patel, T Patel and Tejash Patel, and sponsors observing that all volunteers worked hard for the success of this event.
