CHICAGO: Major Kamaljit Singh Kalsi and his dad visited the Palatine Gurdwara on Saturday August 3 to attend a private function by a Sindhi family.

Prof Kulwant Singh Hundal, an activist, updated the sangat how Major Kalsi fought two years to join the Army with Kesh and Turban. It did open the door for S Tajdeep Singh Rattan and S Simranpreet Singh Lamba who are currently serving in the US army.

Dastaars were given to Major Kalsi and S. Amandeep Singh director of Sikh Coalition by Head Granthi Bhai Gurjant Singh on behalf of Palatine Gurdwara Sangat since both of them fought for the symbol of Sikh faith “Dastaar”.

Posters of “Sikhs Contribution in World Wars” were also given to them by Major Gurcharan Singh Jhaj. Both thanked the Sangat indicating how their childhood friendship came so close to help this worthy cause. Both promised to come to Palatine during regular Sunday Diwan.

The Gurudwara management is considering if it should have American Flag in the Gurdwara premises.
