CHICAGO: Masala Grill restaurant on Devon Avenue in Chicago turned out to be a star attraction on Saturday April 6 for a gathering of over 85 people who wanted to enjoy old and new Bollywood songs.
It was a sold out event organized by Masti Entertainment starting 7 pm and ending by mid night with non-stop Bollywood songs being sung by 20 singers – both amateurs and professionals.
Masti Entertainment had a small beginning last year with and a handful of members. It has grown a bit with over 125 members with the following on a rise. Sunil Shah, a New York Lifer with a good record of supporting talented and upcoming artists, was one of the sponsors of this month’s event. He funded four prizes for the top singers for the night. The 1st prize winner was Dr. Jency Elakkatt, 2nd prize went to Mahijit Virdi, 3rd prize went to Muzaffar Qureshi and the 4th prize went to Dr Imaad Ahmed.
Masti-Entertainment organizes karaoke night called “Chicago Ki Awaaz” every 6-8 weeks, at venues all over Chicago land.
