SANTA CLARA, CA: Americans for Hindus endorsed her for her Mayoral Re-Election campaign. This honor was announced at the Americans for Hindus grand reception and Fundraising event that took place on Sunday, October 2, at Urban Grill Indian Cuisine, Sunnyvale.
The endorsement reads Candidate Ms. Lisa Gillmor’s own integrity, patriotism and passion for serving the United States of America in the best interest of citizens are aligned with our guiding principles on all points. She has the proper training and qualification to be a Mayor and her values align with our guiding principles to empower democracy with Hindu values.
Welcome, supportive and inspiring remarks were made by event organizer Satish Chandra Vale and Hindu Community Leader and Dr. Romesh Japra. Numerous other community members spoke about Mayor Lisa Gillmor and her involvement in the various Hindu events not only in Santa Clara but the greater Bay Area community. Councilmember Kathy Watanabe, a longtime supporter of Dr. Japra and the Hindu community, gave heartfelt remarks about her love and support for her Hindu constituents.
Mayor Lisa Gillmor spoke about her journey as Mayor and her desire to learn more about the Hindu community by attending events, educating herself about International, National and local issues and helping to organize and support events to give visibility and accessibility to the community at large. Lisa stated, “Our community has greatly benefited from our close relationship and is learning about the Hindu culture, traditions, principles and values. I look forward to strengthening our relationship even further in my next term as Mayor”.
