SAN RAMON, CA: Spandana Foundation has announced its 3rd Annual Spandana Spelling Bee completion 2014. It will be held on Sunday, 2nd February 2014 at Windmere Ranch Middle School, San Ramon, CA.
Spandana Foundation is a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of poor and the needy in the fields of education and health. Spandana Foundation mission is “is to help and aid the poor and the deprived people in the field of Basic Living, Education and health by actively encouraging and engaging youth in service activities”. GiriLankepalle, Director and Founding member said “We improved our process a lot from our last two years learning to make it more smooth and flawless event. “. He also mentioned to parents that “Every participant fee from this event is spent to support one year of high-school education back in India”. He requested all parents to remind their kids that their participation is not only for winning spelling bee but also to support a underprivileged student in India.
Top three students in each category were presented with trophies. “To encourage kids to feel the success of their preparation for Spelling Bee, Spandana Foundation recognized top three students in each grade. This is unique in Spandana Spelling Bee competition” said HariMoola another event coordinator.
Chandrasekhar Azad, Spandana Foundation’s event coordnator for Spelling Bee said, “Spandana Spelling Bee is set out to find talented and bright young minds among elementary and middle school children of Northern California with a hope of opening up their minds to the path of “Charity and Doing Good”. Last year more than 300 students from 1st grade to 8th grade from over 18 cities in Bay area competed for honors in 3 categories!”
This year Spandana is expecting to see more than 500 students in its 3rd Annual Spelling Bee competition.
Categories:
Junior -1st, 2nd& 3rd grades
Intermediate – 4th& 5th grades
Senior – 6th, 7th& 8th grades
There will be 3 winners in each category and winners in each grade.
Spandana Foundation received excellent support and encouragement in the past from all the local school PTAs in the past and is requesting their support once again. School PTAs will receive 10% of the registration fee paid by their school students.
