The United States Postal Service (USPS) is releasing an official postal stamp commemorating Diwali. The release of this stamp was the successful culmination of a long-sought goal of the Indian American community and lawmakers behind which many people and organizations put in unyielding and resolute effort.
“The perseverance and dedication of many helped realize this historic day, from Ranju Batra of the Diwali Stamp Project to Rangaswami of Indiaspora, to thousands of grassroots supporters across the country who wrote letters and signed petitions. We wouldn’t be here today without their efforts and unwavering passion,” Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney said here
