At choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza’s dance studio in suburban Mumbai, the waif-like Shraddha Kapoor is easy to miss in a crowd of boys, all dressed identically in vests, track pants and sneakers. “I feel like one of the boys,” says a breathless Shraddha revealing that her ABCD 2 journey began with a new gym membership and plenty of apprehensions.
“I was afraid that I won’t be able to pull of the super-fast hip-hop dance steps that have made ABCD a brand. But however difficult the moves, Remo tells me to go for it,” she smiles, insisting that the director’s confidence in her has worked wonders.
The svelte actress says that she’s never felt fitter in her life and although she’s working out too, the real sweating happens on the dance floor.
Just then, Remo calls out to her. She has to jump, followed by a balancing act. Bursting with energy, the actress leaps into the air effortlessly, as if she is riding a trampoline. Within seconds, she is riding the shoulders of two fellow dancers and strikes a pose. The girl is clearly having fun.
“It’s kids’ stuff. Now, I can do everything!” boasts the actress.
