Seven days of sacred rituals, devotional music, cultural performances and community fellowship brought families together across Southern California.
BREA, Calif.: Shri Siddhivinayak Temple successfully concluded its weeklong Ganesh Chaturthi Mahotsav, held September 14-20, 2026. The seven-day celebration welcomed more than 2,000 devotees from across the region for daily worship, traditional rituals, devotional music, cultural performances and shared Prasad.
A Temple Rooted in Legacy and Community
Located in a historic former church building in the heart of Brea, Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is a place of worship and cultural gathering centered on Lord Ganesh. The temple was established by local entrepreneur Shri Loksarang “Sarang” Hardas, in loving memory of his father Dr. Dinkar Hardas.
Driven by a vision of giving back to society, the temple is supported entirely out of pocket by Dolly and Sarang Hardas, without seeking outside donations or funding. Through festivals, Indian classical music concerts, worship services and community programming, the temple bridges spiritual tradition with cultural and civic life.
A Week of Sacred Rituals and Divine Melodies
The Mahotsav featured carefully organized daily rituals that formed the spiritual backbone of the celebration. Ganesh Puja and Aarati were led by Dolly Hardas and the entire Hardas family, creating an atmosphere of deep reverence and peace throughout the week.
Alongside the prayers, the temple came alive with devotional and cultural music. Attendees enjoyed Bhajan performances by Mr. and Mrs. Munshi as well as a vocal performance by Nameeta, adding to the festival’s spirit of devotion and celebration.
The temple’s mission is to provide a place where the community can worship, practice spirituality, celebrate festivals and cultural activities, and strengthen connections across generations.
Community Spirit and Sacred Prasad
Each evening, following Aarati, attendees gathered for Prasad. Traditionally prepared meal packets curated by Jaybharat were distributed to visitors, reflecting the temple’s emphasis on hospitality and community.
The scale and smooth execution of the Mahotsav reflected the dedication of organizers and volunteers who worked throughout the week. Sarang Hardas expressed appreciation to Chandreshbhai, Krishnaji, Manishbhai, Navitha, Jayeshriben, and the many volunteers whose hard work helped make the celebration possible. He also thanked the thousands of devotees whose enthusiastic participation transformed the week into a memorable cultural and spiritual gathering for the Brea community.
