South Asian Vote Obama campaign launched

web43CHICAGO: President Obama’s pioneer supporter from Indian American community, Balvinder Singh announced launching of a South Asian Vote Obama campaign office on Devon Ave.
In a media and community meeting held at Punjabi Dhaba Restaurant, Balvinder Singh along with other supporters of Democratic party spoke about the campaign office mobilizing South Asian community support for President Obama’s election.
The political icon of Illinois Indian American community, Raja Krishnamoorthy was invited as the chief guest for the event. Raja emphasized that all Indian Americans must come out for voting in this election. Voting in large number makes your presence felt in a democracy, he said. The Voters registration drive is in full swing and Harendra Mangrola, President of Indo American Center, said that it is important for quickening the pace as the D Day is approaching fast
Balvinder Singh, the main organizer of the Obama Campaign Office in the heart of India-town in Chicago, thanked all for joining the event. He briefly talked about the prime objectives of the proposed Vote Obama and Democratic Party campaign office. A team of expert counselors from President’s office will be visiting his team of campaigners for the formal campaign training, he said.
Balvinder said the campaign office will work round the clock with 50 telephone active lines. The volunteers will speak in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu and other Indian languages. The campaign volunteers will speak community to members in their own language and explain the need for President Obama’s re-election. The campaign office will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to the volunteers. He expected enthusiastic volunteers to join the campaign office immediately. Balvinder also announced a kick off ceremony for the campaign office.
The meeting was attended by prominent Indian-Pakistani community members and media persons. Vinesh Virani, Vinod Choudhry, a political advisor from Gujarat, Amar Paul Singh and Rajput Sher Mohammed were among the guests.
