CHICAGO: The Sikh community of Chicago will honor the founders of Palatine Gurdwara Sahib on Saturday November 22 at Sikh Religious Society in Palatine from 10 am to noon.
Sehaj Pathh will start on Friday November 7 in the morning and Sangat is requested to participate in the Pathh.
There were some people in the 70s who took personal loans to purchase 3.5 acre wooded land on a lake. Today the Gurughar stands on more than 11 acre land. Palatine Gurughar is the first and largest Gurdwara Sahib in mid west. “So thhann suhava” is very well reflected here.
Many people contributed later to purchase land and build buildings. Everybody says “Wow” when they see today’s building. It amazes many non-Sikh visitors that almost everything is done here by volunteers. “There is a history that needs to be preserved. Everyone who was involved is requested to come and share memories.
Light snacks and Langar will be served. If you would like to participate in Pathh or celebration, or you have memories to share, kindly let Mrs Jasbir Kaur Saluja, at 847-676-4576 or S.Jaidev Singh Bhattal at 847-732-7681 know.
