CHICAGO: Bappi Lahiri, one of the most popular music directors, composers, and playback singers of Bollywood, would enthrall more than 5,000 plus people at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg on August 16, at the invitation of the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA).
“No worries of rain or storm at our grand event. Come for entertainment, carnival, exotic foods, and stay for the fireworks”, said Sunil Shah, founder of the organization. In the presence of dozens of vendors and with the support of numerous sponsors, we will put together a memorable event for the people of Illinois,” he added
Neil Khot, one of the Vice Presidents, emphasized that organizing the event at Boomers Stadium will guarantee the safety of the visiting people. “We have ample parking space and Metra stop is adjacent to the venue,” he added.
The booming voice of Bappi Da and the glow of the fireworks should be the magnetic attractions for Indian Americans to demonstrate their loyalty to their native motherland, stated Moon Khan, another vice president. “We have put your prestige on the flagpole. Folks, you have to come and salute it.” An auspicious flag ceremony will also be held.
The event, which is also held in cooperation with Oak Brook Polo Club, will start at 2 pm and end with fireworks.
Air India has offered two roundtrip air tickets from Chicago to any Indian city. These tickets will be part of the raffle with other donated items.
Prominent sponsors include Medstar, Motorworks (dealer for Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti), Shree Restaurant, New York Life, Atithi, IIA Group, Big Suchir, Air India, PowerVolt, Sai Saffron, Money Exchange owned by Anil Shah, and Oak Brook Polo Club. More sponsors are on the way.
