CHICAGO: Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago (BSC) celebrated 66th Republic Day of India at the Rana Regan Center in Carol Stream with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. More then 200 members attended the function.
To start with, BSC’s Secretary Rakshika Anjaria sang Ganesh Stuti and gave New Year 2015 good wishes. The members then celebrated 66th Republic day of India waving Indian flags. After that every body sang the American and then the Indian Anthem.
Nalini Parikh and Ishaan Ahmed of the Nalini Parikh Music Group rendered patriotic and old melodies of Mohammad Rafi and Lata Mangeshker. BSC new members and old members participated in singing songs that were enjoyed by all present.
Two minutes silence was observed in memory of senior member Pushpaben Patel as well as another recently deceased BSC member Laxmanbhai Patel.
At the end of the program Du Page County’s Seniors program Coordinator Moneeka Khan and BSC Treasurer Madarsang Chavda gave good wishes to seniors whose birthday and marriage anniversary fell in January 2015, by presenting them flowers.
