‘Hall of Fame’ honors Indian-American community leader Ritu Maheshwari

OAKLAND, CA — The Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame (MESHOF) honored Ritu Maheshwari, when she received the Hall of Fame’s ‘Community Advocate Award’. The ceremony was held at Scott’s Pavilion, Oakland, CA from 6 pm-10 pm on Thursday, February 20th, 2025.

Ritu Maheshwari was honored for being passionate community leader who strives to unite the Indian-American community and help youth connect with their culture and roots. She has actively worked to give victims of crime and domestic violence a voice by making resources available, doing documentaries, and creating awareness in society through her YouTube channel.

As a passionate community advocate and vice president of media and publicity at Festival of Globe (FOG), Ritu is at the forefront of serving, supporting an uplifting Indo American community.

Ritu, at the award ceremony said, “Helping and supporting community members to unite and thrive is a fulfilling endeavor. I am fortunate to have made so many friends while helping them.”

Presenting the award, Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and Chairman, Festival of Globe said, “Ritu has been working to serve the community for over two decades and it is fitting that she gets award along with many multi-talented sports personalities.”

Event was organized by Arif Khatib, Founder and President MESHOF.

MESHOF is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization have made significant contributions to the world of sports and broadening the public’s understanding from all corners of the globe. MESHOF provides   educational   life   skills   and   mentorship   opportunities   for   deserving   youth.
