BELLINGHAM, MA: Members of Indian community in Bellingham have acquired 17 acres of land for Sri Shiva Temple the work for which is expected to start in the upcoming spring.
According to reports, it will be built in two phases, and when completed, it will have the sanctuary, community hall, classrooms, staff residences, etc. A stream passes through the temple complex and the temple aims to preserve the wetlands. In addition to various services offered by the current temple, the upcoming temple will also provide lessons about religion, various languages of India, music, dance, etc.
The current temple, Boston Sri Kalikambal Shiva Temple in Bellingham opens daily, offers worship services, celebrates festivals, conducts Sanskrit classes, awards scholarships, etc. Mangalam Sambamoorthy is Temple President while Sivachariar Bhairavji is the Priest.
