CHICAGO: The programs from June 23 to 25, 2023 with hundreds of devotees and sponsors of the special Kalash Sthapana, Homams, Abhisheks and Pujas of all the deities of the temple. This event marked the days with religious ceremonies and chanting of Vedic Mantras both inside and outside of the temple.
On Friday, Jun 23, there was Kalash Sthapana of Sarvatobhadra and all deities of the temple with Lord Ganapati and Navagraha puja, and offering of special Naivedyam and Arati by sponsorship.
On Jun 24, there was Shobha Yatra of Kalashas by women from the shrine to the outside tent followed by Sankalpam, Pujas, and Homams of Lord Shiva, Lord Karthikeya, Lord Ganesh, and Kala Bhairav.
On Jun 25, there was also a Shobha Yatra of Kalashas by women from the shrine to the outside tent followed by Sankalpam, Pujas, and Homams of Lord Vishnu, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Lord Balaji, Lord Hanuman and Navagrahas.
Later, all the Kalashas were brought back to the shrine and Kumbha Abhishekam was performed for all the temple deities. All the deities had new costumes, special alankaram, and fresh flower garlands. Sponsor’s homemade naivedyams were offered to all the deities. All the devotees along with temple priests namely Pt. Anil Joshi, Pt. Radha Krishna, Pt. Balaji Gopal performed Maha Mangalarati of all the deities.
Pt. Joshi Ji delivered his discourse on, ‘Why celebrate temple Anniversaries and their significance.’ He also blessed all the devotees for their bright and prosperous future. Raj Gopalan, Rajesh Jayaramana actively participated in chanting Vedic Mantras. Temple president, Dr. Manoj Adhikari gave vote of thanks to all the devotees and sponsors for their active participation and generous support. Temple Kitchen committee provided Maha Prasadam to the all devotees on those 3 days.
Hindu Mandir of Lake County has become a religious, social and cultural center for the county’s Hindus, as well as a popular destination for student groups, tourists and anyone who wants to learn more about the Sanatana faith. Temple wants to leave a rich legacy for the younger generation.
Our younger generation indeed has been interested in following our Sanatana faith. Along with that the growing Indian community in the county, has resulted in the temple’s success “beyond our expectations,” Shammi, Dhall, temple’s religious committee coordinator said
