CHICAGO: Hope United Methodist Church, Naperville a south-west suburb of Chicago hosted a Gospel Concert with Thomas Puthoor last week including an orchestra by Richard Christian, Base Guitarist: John Mall, Keyboard Players: Joel Christian, ShahjadMarkas, and Sound: Tariq Khan It was an evening of music, testimonies, and dedication to God.
Rev Avani Christian, Pastor of the Church, welcomed all and invited them for the upcoming events in the worship of the Church. The program started with an invocation by Pastor Paul Morris. BlessonMacloen was the MC of the Program. He introduced Thomas Puthoor, a renowned international gospel singer who has sung in many languages – Hindi, Gujarati, Malayalam and Swahili. Puthoor is ministering through singing for last 26 years and has done musical programs in the US, Singapore, London, Canada, Fiji Island, Australia, Kenya, New Zealand, Tanzania and India.
Thomas Puthoor dedicated his life to bring God’s love and worship through music for twenty-six years. He is from Kenya and is the Managing Director of one of the largest apparel manufacturing Companies in Kenya since last 17 years.
He sang his first song with a soul touching song called “TerepaasAaata Ho”. Hope UMC choir for chorus accompanied him. Then he sang a Gujarati song, MaguIshwaraatlu” which was soul searching song of strength and courage in times of difficulty and uncertainty. He continued many songs and showed God’s gift.
The evening ended with dinner and Garba with Thomas Puthoor’sGarba songs. Together We Serve, Rev Avani Christian and Pastor, Hope United Methodist Church.
