ST LOUIS: Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis organized their annual picnic at McDonald Park on Saturday July 21. Close to 200 members, friends, and well-wishers participated.
This is an annual affair with the Samaj. Beisdes a full scale social interaction and games, the highlight of the picnic was enchanting and mouth watering food. The food team was ready with Dalvada, Batata Vada, Corn water melons, Corn, Ice Snow cone as the participants started arriving at the picnic site.
Throughout the event, Indian games and sports, such as cricket, volleyball, water balloons and other enjoyable items were played. Indian food was served to all members included Dal Dhikri, Puri, Rice, Raita. The picnic was enjoyed by all the guests due to dedication and hard work by members, volunteers and officers of Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis.
The next big event for the Samaj will be Navratri celebration at St. Ann Community Center from Oct 20.
Gujarati Samaj of St. Louis came into existence in 1984 with the efforts of some community leaders to preserve, protect and personify our eastern values, to make our children participate in celebrating our festivals, and to provide platform to all Gujaratis to come together to meet, greet, entertain and celebrate our heritage.
Gujarati Samaj arranges programs to commemorate important Gujarati festivals and events and invites dignitaries and artists from Gujarat and India to perform for the benefit of the members.
