Dold given ‘Friend of Community’ Award

CHICAGO: U.S. Congressman from Illinois Robert Dold was given the “Hindu American Foundation Friend of the Community” award for his record of advocating and addressing the concerns of the Hindu American community and standing up for those who are persecuted around the world.
In his acceptance speech he thanked the Hindu community and said,” I am honored to receive this award. As a member of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, I believe it is important that we stand up for the voiceless. That is why I have stood up for religious and ethnic minorities throughout the world and will continue to do so. I am proud of the work I have done with my Indian Advisory Board and I thank the Hindu American Foundation for their efforts to raise awareness regarding Hindus throughout the world.”
Robert Dold is a third-generation resident of the 10th District of Illinois. After earning a BA from Denison University, he pursued law and bagged a degree from Indiana University, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Bob ran Rose Pest Solutions, a small business founded in 1860, the oldest pest management company in the United States. Rose Pest Solutions is headquartered in Northfield, IL
With extensive and diverse experiences as a small business owner, and in Washington, DC, where he worked on campaign finance reform during his tenure as an investigative counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, Bob is focused on bipartisan solutions for creating jobs, protecting the environment, keeping the homeland secure and ending human rights injustices around the world.
