CHICAGO: A Chicago-based non-profit humanitarian organization Hand in Hand USA (HIH USA) hosted its 13th annual fundraising dinner at Waterford Banquet Hall in Elmhurst last week.
Hariharananda Balashram, a residential charitable school, is one of the many projects of Hand In Hand USA that provides home, food, healthcare and outstanding education to society’s most vulnerable members. The service projects include multiple charitable health clinics that provide free medical and dental care to thousands of patients monthly in rural villages and financial support to natural disaster relief efforts around the world.
Welcoming all those present, Durga Chunduri, president of HIH, updated the audience about the achievements of the organization. A short but informative documentary on the Hariharananda Balashram was screened. Master of ceremony Suganya Pratap kicked off the program with the introduction.
Puneet Mansharamani, a member of HIH USA, who recently visited India, shared several lively photos of Balashram and urged all the supporters to contribute more to provide further facilities to these children.
The cultural performance by Srutilaya Orchestra was captivating. A vote of thanks was given by Mihir Dash, a longtime member of HIH USA which dropped the curtain on an evening of socializing, music and great food that had all come together for a great cause.
