CHICAGO: American Telugu Association [ATA] is gearing up to host one of the most anticipated ATA Conventions in Chicago from July 1 to 3 at the Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont, a northwest suburb of Chicago. It is drawing huge support from Indian community as well attracting celebrities, dignitaries and VIPs.
There is huge likelihood of Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu joining the legion of elected officials from the State of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to attend the convention, thus making it one of the largest and most anticipated conventions that seeks to unveil the beauty, essence and spirit of Telugu cultural heritage.
The spirit and enthusiasm of the ATA Convention is escalating with palpable excitement among the large Telugu diaspora looking forward to the historic silver jubilee celebrations.
ATA leaders are making concerted efforts to make this 3-day convention a historic, wholesome family event on an unprecedented scale to showcase Telugu culture, art, music, dance, literary, religion, social economic, health and political forums surpassed only by great gourmet food, fashion shows, contemporary cinematic music and colorful dance presentations. The convention will also feature spiritual discourses. For the youth ATA is organizing youth-centric activities including a cruise on Lake Michigan.
At the planning meeting held at Tamarind Restaurant in Aurora on June 12, the ATA team of leaders sat together to review all the convention arrangements, contracts and logistics to coordinate a huge number of volunteers. Sudhakar Perkari, ATA President and key ATA Trustees and Board members are working in close conjunction with the convention team leaders and Chairs.
