CHICAGO: Indo-US Lions Club and some of its members pulled together and served Chicagoland homeless from Buddha temple in Chicago. The homeless included kids, students, parents and orderlies.
The Lions gave them food, clothing, blankets, hand gloves, hats, shoes, winter jackets, toys, books and some school supply. This has been an ongoing effort on the part of Lions every year, says Hina Trivedi, President of the Club.
“I have been doing this for years but for the first time noticed that some Indian kids and old Indian people were part of the group who were served. Last year we helped about 500 people. This year it was 650 and we expect to reach thousand people by next year. This we can do if we all work together,” she added.
