CEO Sunil Tolani: “To live your dream is very rare in life, I have been so fortunate.”

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD: The Asian American Hotel Owner’s Association (AAHOA) has honored Prince Organization CEO Sunil Tolani, a Yorba Linda resident, for humanitarian work from the largest in the world. Jagruti Panwala, AAHOA Vice Chairwoman, praised Tolani referring to his inspiring example. She said, “Sunny lives in California and owns properties in Texas and Louisiana. Even before the storms hit, Sunny immediately lowered, not raised, his room prices. He also contacted AAHOA and Texas Hotel and Lodging Association offering to donate rooms to anyone who had lost their home. Then he told his General Managers to give away free meals to anyone in the community who needed food. Sunny did all this, not because a law forced him to do it, but because he understands what it means to give back.”
A record 6,700 attendees converged on National Harbor for the 2018 AAHOA Convention and Trade Show, where hotel owners, hospitality professionals, and industry partners alike gathered at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center outside of Washington, D.C., from March 27-30 to discuss the previous year’s successes and learn about opportunities for growth and improvement from industry leaders and educational sessions. The more than 18,000 AAHOA members own 1 in every 2 hotels in the United States.

August 2017, the Texas Gulf Coast was devastated by Hurricane Harvey, one of the worst storms to ever hit the area. While many of the victims of these events had to evacuate their homes due to subsequent flooding and were waiting for humanitarian aid, Tolani immediately jumped into action to help house the displaced and offer comfort to those who needed it immediately begin efforts to help the victims and aid in rebuilding. He set up donation bins for personal toiletries and hygienic items for in his hotels in Dallas, Austin and Louisiana. Tolani also opened his properties in Nacogdoches, and other cities in Texas—driving distance from Houston, to displaced victims following the storm with complimentary rooms and hot foods.
