CHICAGO: The American Association of Engineers of Indian Origin (AAEIO) held its US-India summit and Annual Gala on September 17 2022 at Marriott, Oakbrook, a south side suburb of Chicago, The US Congressman Bill Foster inaugurated the Summit,
President Gladson Varghese welcomed the chief guest and attendees, Chairman of the Summit and Gala Dr. Deepak Kant Vyas and Co-Chairman Dr. Promod Vohra gave the details of the Summit and purpose to the attendees. In their remarks they stated, AAEIO is proud to organize this summit and Annual Gala to benefit the Indian Engineering community.
The summit is to bring political, economic, and innovation leaders from India and US together to address the power of engineering profession to be a catalyst in promoting Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Economic Development. It had high-level representatives from Company Executives, Government, and the Private sector. The Summit had panel discussions, a presentation of best practices in Technology and networking opportunities.
This is first of the many events planned for the next year to bring the engineers of Indian origin together and work towards creating a group to influence students, future startups, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and community leaders.
It is an attempt to bring all US engineers of Indian Descent under one organization to create synergy in Innovation and Future development of the country.
Also, AAEIO will take upon itself to mentor the future engineering entrepreneurs on a global basis to serve as catalysts for change and growth. The leadership talent in the US will mentor the future generation of engineers though mentoring, networking, advising, guiding, and partnering.
US Rep. Dr. Bill Foster who was a former scientist mentioned that there are different areas AAEIO, Federal government and various industries can work together to develop better Technology and innovation. Immersive Touch Technology Company presented various ideas for innovation and latest technology in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Northwestern University Kellogg school of Management associate Dean Dr. Mohanbir Sawhney talked about current trend, Challenges start-up companies are facing and how to overcome the issues.
There was a panel discussion on How Illinois Government can benefit Indians living in Illinois and on Areas Illinois Senate and AAEIO can work together to benefit Indian Engineers, start-ups, businesses and Engineering students. Senate President Don Harmon, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Laura Murphy, Senator Ann Gillespie, State Rep. Mark Walker, Oakbrook Trustee Dr. Suresh Reddy, AAEIO Secretary Mr. Nag Jaiswal and AAEIO President Gladson Varghese participated on the discussion Dr. Promod Vohra Dr. Deepak Kant Vyas, and Mr. Brij Sharma were the moderators.
Annual Gala was inaugurated by Sen Ann Gillespie by lighting the Lamp along with Board members of AAEIO. President of AAEIO Gladson Varghese welcomed all the VVIPs and the audience, explained the Major accomplishment of 2021-2022 and the Vision for next few years of AAEIO. Also a video was played explaining the accomplishment of AAEIO for the year 2021-2022.
Awards were presented to people for their extraordinary work and to the Sponsors. Avient Corporation from Ohio becomes the Corporate Partners of AAEIO, Kalpesh Patel and Vishwanathan Lakshmanan received the Plaque from Sen Ann Gillespie for Corporate Partnership. Patel and Lakshmanan mentioned Avient is a $4 Billion corporation, they will work with AAEIO to fill various Job opportunities they are having and their Engineers will become members of AAEIO and looking forward for a strong partnership.
The Indian Union Minister for State for Electronics, IT & Entrepreneurship, Dr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar joined the meeting via Zoom and gave hi keynote address besides participating in the Q&A session. He addressed the audience and AAEIO Board explaining improvements happening in India in the field of Innovations, Technology and Economy. Innovations in India are going to be a force that is going to impact the whole world.
India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Its economy is expected to grow at a faster rate this year.
Innovations in India have been a huge force for economic growth and social development. AAEIO need to take a lead role and work with Indian Engineering organization in India to improve innovation and Technology in India. India is not just one of the world’s largest economies; it is one of the youngest too. While this unique demographic holds the promise of making India a thrumming engine of the world economy.
The Minister Dr. Chandrasekhar also answered questions from the Audience.
