SUNNYVALE, CA: Bay Area residents were treated to a melodious evening of devotional songs and bhajans by Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota. As grand finale to five day Maha Kumbabhishekam organized by Sunnyvale Hindu Temple, Anup Jalota gave a scintillating performance to a packed hall.
He sang all his famous Bhajans and Ghazals for music lovers who couldn’t have enough of his Bhajans. Everyone was immersed in hit Bhajans which included aisi lagi re lagan, main nahi makhan khayo, rang de chunariya, jag me sundarhai do naam, and chadariya jhini re jhini.
Anup Jalota was supported by expert musicians Ravi on Tabla, Bashir on Banjo and Bobby on Guitar.

Q: How do you feel coming to Bay Area?
A: It is always a great feeling to come to Bay Area. I especially like the people here as they are music lovers and very knowledgeable about music. They enjoy music a lot more than others. I enjoy Bay area and come here often. I look forward to continuing my visits and programs here.
Q: Over the years have you seen any change in listener preferences?
A: I find people keen to enjoy good music. In fact, with television getting entrenched in our daily lives, more and more people are getting attracted towards music
Q: Do you find any difference between your fans in Indian and here in US?
A: I find fans engrossed in music both in India as well as here. However, listeners in US make concerts a lot more personal, as they know that these are special appearances.
Q: You have sung many Bhajans and Ghazals. What is the key to your success?
A: Be it Ghazals or Bhajans, richness of poetry is key to mesmerizing people. If lyrics are good, people will enjoy the music, be it bhajan or ghazal.
Q: What is your message to music aspirants of Bay area?
A: You are very lucky that you live in this area. Many great musicians have institutions here that you can use to learn. Focus on classical music if you want to stay relevant longer. While many fads come and go, classical music will sustain you for long time.
