CHICAGO: Bharatiya Senior of Chicago celebrated ‘Shivratri’ & Valentine’s Day on February 18 2023 with more then 700 members and invited guests attending this program.
BSC Secretary Rashila Dobariya sang a ‘Ganesh Vandna”and BSC Managing Trustee Parsotam Pandya welcomed all members and guests offering best wishes for Maha Shivratri” to all
The Program was began with “Shivji Vargodo’ BSC members joined Shivji Vargodo with Hallowing mask and dancing for Shiva’s Wedding procession. Everyone drank ‘Thandai” after which a Special song ‘Ravan Rachit Shiv Tandav Stotram” was performed by Avni Bang Followed by Valentine program managed by ‘Bhavna Modi and Jigan & Jignesh Gandhi. They call selected Valentine couple on the stage and asked them funny question and giving them best wishes with the nice gifts.
On the day all members wore Red & Black Valentine’sdress code,with men wearing black shirt, T-Shirt, Jacket and Red Coat. All women were dressed in Saris
Music and Bollywood songs of 60s,70s &80swere sung by Sa Re Ga Ma fame Omkar Deshpande & Shivani Shah the program’s Chief guest.
BSC committee members worked hard for the success of the program.
BSC President Haribhai Patel urged to organize Fitness or Health program for seniors so they can be healthy for the rest of life. Bhavna Modi & Jigna Gandhi are scheduled to organize Health Fitness program with personal trainers and tutors soon. They plan to bring Miss Preyal Patel (Gujarati Speaking) professional trainer. They will provide this at nominal cost of $10 so more people can afford. They are also considering free lunch every Tuesdays for seniors.
State bank of India Chicago joined as a sponsor for the BSC program. It was represented by Sudesh Bhatt (CEO). Amit Shah along with the Seniors’ colleagues had interactions with BSC members.
