CHICAGO: Bhartiya Seniors in Chicago celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day in collaboration with Mandi Theater Group on January 19 at Rana Regan Center in Carol Stream (a north side suburb of Chicago) with over 1500 BSC members and guests attending the event.
BSC Secretary Rakshika Anjaria welcomed attendees and the event sponsor Dr. Ramya Sharma from ‘Crest Dental’ and talked about the organization activities for the society at large.
Dr. Ramya announced that she would give seniors discounts for dental services. BSC Vice President Parsotam Pandya welcomed Alka Sharma the director of ‘Mandi Theater Group’ and her group by presenting bouquet of flowers.
Tabla Wadak Bindu Pathak and student performed Jugalbandi of Tabla and Indian Classical Dance Kathak and Shiva strotam Dance. Alka Sharma presented three Hindi plays Mili, Kitab Likhne Ka Bhoot and Matki Chhap Pe Mohar Lagao which were full of fun, entertainment and laughter.
Jokes by Riddhi, poem by Ananya, fusion dance by Alakita & Group were well received. Flag hoisting was done by BSC Vice President Parsotam Pandya and Rakshika Anjaria with Indian Anthem sung by Ananya. She also rendered a song ‘Dil Diya hai Jaan bhi Denge’ from movie ‘Karma.’ Saroj Beri performed dance on very popular patriotic song ‘Aey Mere Vatan Ke Logo’. She performed another dance ‘Billo Nach Nach Ke’. Jay Mukharji sang song ‘Main Shayar To Nahin’ from Bollywood movie ‘Bobby.”
Every one attending the event had a good time celebrating the 70th Republic Day of India that culminated with a delicious dinner.
