After Abhishekam, Pt. Anil Joshi Ji delivered a brief discourse on the importance of Purushottam Maas. He said that Lord is always there when you need him. He removes all the obstacles of his staunch devotees and brings balance in the world by stabilizing Dharma. Dharma is a code of living that emphasizes good conduct, morality, following responsibilities and principles by all human beings.

The Adhik masa is an extra lunar month added to the solar calendar every three years so that the lunar and the solar years are synchronized. Purushottam Maas is associated with this extra Month.

The Mythological basis of Adhik Maas is that a notorious demon king Hiranyakashipu had a boon from Lord Shiva that he could not be killed in any of the twelve months. Therefore, Lord Vishnu created this additional month in which the Lord finally killed him. This month is assigned to Lord Vishnu and HE presented the Adhik Maas with a boon, that whatever good deed a person does this month would get ten times the rewards than that of a normal month.

In Sanatana Dharma, the belief is that this month is very auspicious for acquiring merits through good deeds, japa, meditation, Katha recitation, spiritual austerities, Abhishekam, Havan, and Dana, listening to Bhajans etc. It is believed that worshipping and performing religious duties in this month with pious and devoted mind will bring positive results.
