SCHAUMBURG: Newly appointed Consul General of India, Somnath Ghosh along with some elected officials, inaugurated first India & the U.S. flag poles at National INDIA HUB on Oct 22 2022 at India Hub Headquarters, in East Schaumburg .
Somnath Ghosh ceremoniously hoisted the first ever standalone tricolor Indian flag along with the American flag that stands towering permanently at the National INDIA HUB in the heart of downtown Schaumburg. The US National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner & Indian National Anthem, Jan Gana Mana, was sung by all present .
Continuing the proceedings for the US & India Flag Launch ceremony, the Master of the Ceremony Richa Chand, invited Founder of National India Hub, Harish Kolasaniwho said , “INDIA HUB is a National Indian American Community center to UNITE & HELP each other. It is an initiative of NRI SEVA & NCAIA’s partner organizations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges that many Indian Americans have faced.” He also mentioned that India Hub serves as a recreational center for the visiting parents besides helping with paperwork and documentation related to health, mental health, immigration, visa, OCI and several other forms and applications, Indian cultural and language classes the Club is helping the community with!
A Lamp Lighting ceremony was conducted by Chief Guest CG Somnath Ghosh He was joined by a host of elected officials including Ms Michelle Mussman – State Rep, Seth Lewis – State Rep. George Dunham Village Trustee, Mayor in-charge Schaumburg Village, Anil Barot – Schaumburg City Planning Commissioner, Nag Jaiswal, Commissioner Running for Naperville City Council, Chris Dargis, BAPS Mandir – and its representatives were thanked for facilitating snacks and refreshments for the guests.
Keerthi Reevori, formally introduced Somnath Ghosh to the distinguished guests. Ghosh said, “The U.S.-India strategic partnership is founded on the shared values including a commitment to democracy and upholding the rules-based international system. The United States and India have shared interests in promoting global security, stability, and economic prosperity through trade, investment, and connectivity.” He stated that INDO-US ties have strengthened in recent times and the friendship between the two countries can contribute to a better economy, entrepreneurship, innovation and social life and mutual growth in each & every sector
Vote of Thanks was delivered by Hitesh Kamdar – followed by Diwali Reception. India Hub thanked all the volunteers and guests for joining this historical milestone ceremony strengthening Indo-US ties.
