Dr. John Rutgers
NEW YORK: It was a great loss to humanity when the world lost a great healer and humanitarian, Dr. Pankaj Naram passed away on February 19, 2020. Messages of deep respect and heart-felt sorrow have been sent by leaders in government, business, media, and religion, but perhaps the greatest tribute is his own life, and the messages from his patients who describe how he changed their lives forever.
In a time where so much stress and turmoil exists, from global viruses to economic crises, millions of people in India and all across the globe, had a person they could go to anytime for deeper healing solutions for almost any physical, mental, or emotional challenge. During this time of grieving, it is helpful to look at how we in the modern world gained because of Dr. Naram’s life and mission, even if you never had a chance to meet him.
Dr. Naram’s healing methods were based on ancient secrets given to him by his teacher Baba Ramdas, who was claimed to have lived to 125 years of age. Although Dr. Naram studied at Mithibai College and Bombay University, obtaining various degrees in Ayurvedic medicine and subsequently being registered with the Medical Council of Indian Medicine, he credited his real success to what happened after school.
After completing his degrees, Dr. Naram still felt inadequate in helping people heal in the way he wanted to. So when he learned about a great healer that was helping people, Dr. Naram wanted to meet him right away. The traditional physician and healer, Baba Ramdas, saw Dr. Naram’s persistence and burning desire to learn, and eventually took him as a student to teach him certain advanced ancient healing methods (called Siddha-Veda), which included secrets for things like pulse diagnosis, herbal preparations, and marmaa-shakti.
These secrets had been passed down, master to students, for thousands of years, originating with the physician for Buddha, whose name was Jivaka. After learning these secrets, Dr. Naram received a special assignment from his master. “My mission is to bring vibrant health, unlimited energy, and peace of mind into every heart, every home on earth, through the ancient healing secrets,” Dr. Naram said.
For the last 36+ years, Dr. Naram proceeded to take these secrets all over the world, traveling in more than a dozen countries using these ancient secrets to help alleviate chronic and acute health challenges (e.g. diabetes, arthritis, infertility, ADD/ADHD, heart problems, skin disorders, etc.), and even help people do things like regrow hair or lose weight. Dr. Naram himself said, “I used to have no hair and lots of time. Now I have lots of hair, and no time.”
Dr. Naram also helped spread these secrets through popular TV shows that were broadcast into 169 countries. He also trained western medical doctors under the invitation of a University in Berlin, Germany.
Dr. Naram was known to see between 300 to 600 people a day at his clinic in India, and more than 100 people a day at clinics in other countries around the world. Dr. Naram’s famous patients included people like Saint Mother Teresa, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, the former prime minister of India Morarji Desai, countless Bollywood and Hollywood stars, and thousands of 9-11 firefighters and first responders.
On October 17th, 2010, the State of New Jersey and the Honorable Former Governor Christine Todd Whitman gave an award of recognition to Master Healer Dr. Pankaj Naram, for having helped thousands of those affected by the toxicity of 9/11. More people were dying as a result of inhaling the toxic fumes than those who died in the collapse of the buildings, and Dr. Naram had a solution to help those at risk.
The organization coordinating the effort, called “Serving those Who Serve,” shared a study done in a peer-reviewed medical journal by two doctors and researchers, that reported on the effectiveness of the herbs as compared to other treatments, in increasing breathing capacity, decreasing toxin-related sicknesses, reducing joint pain, improving digestion, sleep and overall vitality. In October 2016, Senator Sam Thompson from New Jersey also conferred Dr Naram with the “Humanitarian of the Year” award for his role in helping these 9-11 heroes regain their health.
In June 2017, National Geographic TV acknowledged Dr Naram as a “World Authority on Ancient Healing Secrets.” In September of 2017, HuffPost called him a “Master Healer,” in their 3-part series on his humanitarian aid to the victims of hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and other natural disasters.
Yet not everyone appreciated his methods. In July 2015, a media watchdog in the United Kingdom fined ZeeTV 25,000 pounds for broadcasting an episode in which Dr. Naram shared a remedy his lineage has used to help people with cancer.
As a result, the TV station took his show off the air for a short period of time. Letters and emails came from thousands requesting his show be reinstated, including doctors and researchers, who said Dr. Naram helped them with their own cancer by using these ancient methods. Soon a new TV show with Dr. Naram began to be broadcast all around the world, in which he could again share home remedies and diet recommendations that help people live healthy, vibrant lives.
Referring to Dr Naram as a “Healing Guru,” the Italian Mayor of Bucine (AR), Pietro Tanzini, in Tuscany, inaugurated on 14th May 2019, an innovative Ancient Healing medical clinic in his city and bestowed an “Onoreficenza Conferita” award to Dr Naram for “Healing the World with the Ancient Secrets of Siddha Veda.” Dr. Giovanni Brincivalli, M.D., a long-time student of Dr. Naram and practitioner of his methods in clinics around Italy and all of Europe, said “this is the first time a public medical clinic in Europe is recognizing and hosting the ancient healing science and methods of Siddha Veda, for the benefit of the local citizens, and with the support of Indian government.” La Nazione (a respected Italian newspaper) reported that the ambassador of India in Italy has assured, on behalf of the government of India, support for this breakthrough initiative. At the same event, the Indian Community Association of Bucine, Italy, called Dr Naram the India Ratna “Jewel of India” recognizing him with an award, “for spreading the ancient healing secrets in the world.”
On July 3, 2019, Senator Shannon Grove of California said Dr Naram is a “positive community leader who always puts others before him. His commitment to public safety and helping others was proven when he received resolutions at the state and city level. He helps heal individuals through the ancient art and science of Siddha-Veda. Since meeting him, I have witnessed first-hand the impact he has had on our community and my constituents.”
In August 2019, Dr Naram was invited as chief guest to speak to the Mera India (My India) gathering of 30,000 people in New Jersey, and in January 2020 (only a month before his passing) at a gathering of 300,000 in Gujarat, India.
At both events, Dr Naram received an award and recognition for the book about him and his mission, called “Ancient Secrets of a Master Healer.” Dr. Naram hoped this book would bless those who may never be able to meet him in person. The author of that book, Dr. Clint G Rogers, said he was a skeptic of Dr. Naram’s work, however in a TEDx talk which has been seen by millions, Dr. Rogers shares the transformation that happened in him as he saw Dr. Naram heal his father of conditions that previously seemed incurable. As a result, Dr. Rogers spent the last 10+ years of Dr. Naram’s life traveling with him and documenting his ancient healing secrets for the benefit of humanity.
Dr. Clint G Rogers shared that although nominated for numerous, Dr. Naram actually never cared for awards and recognitions. His love was completely for his patients. In the book about his life, Dr. Naram’s patients tell the story best. Those couples who could not have babies and then were able to conceive, as well as those on death’s doorstep and brought back to life, all shared how grateful they were that Dr. Naram dedicated his life to helping them. Dr. Naram would often joke, “I have two main ailments. They are ‘chronic happiness syndrome’ and ‘chronic energy syndrome’. And they are contagious.”
On February 19th, 2020, Dr. Naram was flying back from a visit to Dubai. One of his patients who saw him in Dubai the same day, recalled how vibrantly healthy he was, and how he was making them all laugh. Upon landing at the Mumbai International airport, Dr. Naram called his executive assistant, Vinay Soni, to find out if the car was waiting for him outside. Somewhere in the customs line, Dr. Naram collapsed and was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Although the conditions leading to the death were not clear, the doctors declared it as heart failure, and the body was cremated less than 12-hours later. A prayer service in celebration of his life was held on 22nd February, 2020, attended by many recognized leaders in business, politics, religion, and media, as well as, by over 1,500 adoring patients, and watched by more than 50,000 people around the world through live stream online.
Dr. Naram is survived by his wife, Smita Naram, his son, Krushna Naram, his siblings, Vidyutt Naram and Varsha Thakker, as well as their spouses and children.
Through such dynamic global work, Dr. Naram lived so many lifetimes in one, changing lives around the world with his ancient healing secrets. If you have a story or memory of Dr. Naram, please email them to clint@drnaram.com
