CHICAGO: People from Madhya Pradesh , an Indian State (Friends of MP in Illinois) celebrated Diwali Milan 2022 with great pomp in Chicago. In a well-attended cultural program, about 250 people including elders and children, took part with great enthusiasm and joy.
This Diwali Milan, keeping Indian rituals and religious piety paramount, started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the senior parents. The happiness that was in the eyes of about 20 parents was hugely evident and this gave the Diwali Milan program a good spirited start. Various religious and cultural programs were presented by the native residents of Madhya Pradesh.
After the worship of there was Shri Ganesh Vandanafollowed by singing Indian anthem and American “national anthem”. The cultural program was conducted in Hindi with numerous solo dances, group dance of children and elders, musical instruments, poetry, humor-satire and melodious songs were presented which were enjoyed by the audience.
Many visitors got very emotional and said that through such programs children and future generations are connected with their Indian culture. Everyone appreciated and said this is the real nature of the festivals, which should be according to the family and culture. After the cultural performances, everyone enjoyed the delicious Indian vegetarian dishes and danced together in the music, bringing the same radiance that resides in the heart of every MPian.
The workers of Friends of MP in Illinois conducted the program in a very systematic manner with selfless spirit. In this program, gifts were distributed to all the families, made up with 100 percent items manufactured in Madhya Pradesh, and as a special blessing with prasad from Mahakal Ujjain.
