CHICAGO: It was one of the grandest celebrations of a top Indian festival – Holi and Dhuleti – at Shree Jalaram Mandir in Hoffman Estate, a north side suburb of Chicago.
Over 1200 devotees from across Chicagoland and neighboring Sates of Wisconsin and Indiana thronged the Mandir for darshan, chanting holy bhajans and partking prasad
The Mandir has been celebrating Holi Navratri, Diwali and other important Hindu festivals on a grand scale with huge participation from a cross section of Indian society. Enthused by the huge response, the Mandir management has announced hosting a 24-hour Ram Dhun starting at 11 am until April 13, Annakut Darshan at noon and Ram Janam – the birth day of Lord Ram
The Mandir will also host its annual Health Fair which is a free for all event with volunteers of the Mandir attending to the needs of the needy. The fair will be held on April 20 from 8 am. It will cover free blood check, EKG, bone density, eye exam, etc. The management wants those coming for blood test to have 12 hours fasting. The service will be on the basis of first come first served.
