DES PLAINES: Chicago Global Gayatri Pariwar-Gayatri Shaktipeeth Chicago recently celebrated Gurupurnima with more than 300 devotees gathering at Lake Opeka, corner of Lee & Touhy in Des Plaines and performing the Gayatri Yagya.
About 108 Kundi Yagyas were performed by the lake on a sunny day. The event started with Dr. Kusum Patel, the chief organizer, explaining the importance of Guru in our life. She said that without Guru – spiritual master – one cannot achieve or progress in spiritual field. She also mentioned that Mahakal Katha, is new Katha, and it includes Pragya Puran Katha and Punchkoshi Sadhan.
She said that one cannot achieve realization of God without Punch Koshi Sadhana. Before Aarti in Punchkosh Sadhana also there are some yoga poses, Aasana, Pranaya, Bandh Mahamudra practicing which one can stay healthy without any medicine. Kiran Chawala from Columbus Ohio narrated yoga poses and described benefits of Yoga and Mahamudra.
Guru Purnima souvenir book “Mahakal message” was inaugurated by chief guest Mrs. Santosh Kumar and Main Yajman Dr Dhirenbhai Patel and his wife Kusumben Patel. Santosh Kumar, President of Metropolitan Asian Family Services, stressed on the importance of Guru and Hinduism.
At the end Dilipbhai Thakkar proposed vote of thanks.
