BOSTON: Tamal Lena and Mrs Shakti Lena organized their monthly Kitchen Kirtan (KK) with Adam Bauer as a featured singer of Bhajans on Friday April 13 in Cambridge, MA.
KK of Cambridge is getting popularity among the lovers of Kirtans in the surrounding areas of Massachusetts because of the presence of a group of professional musicians who delight all the participants in raising their collective voices together in the singing of the names Hindu Gods.
Tamal cordially welcomed Adam Bauer and audience to the warm evening of chanting in community. He also said that Adam is now traveling the globe and sharing the heart-expanding beauty of Kirtan. Like Yoga, one of the popular meditation music genre called Kirtan, the call and response singing is getting increasing acceptance and admiration among American Kirtan loves because Kirtan is incredibly beautiful and experimental, and a glorious world of sound therapy.
Adam Bauer sang melodious Hare Krishna classic Bhajans of Lord Ganesh, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, Ma Radha along with Jacky Glen and Kalia Kellogg. The magical music crew included Joseph Kalidas Getter on flute, Richard Davis on guitar, and Jojo Silverman on drums. They provided very harmonious music to the singing of Bhajans. It is believed that group singing of Bhajans helps the soul to enter the sacred space and to be lifted from our present plane of consciousness to spiritual land.
Kitchen Kirtan is a unique spiritual experience that involves all our senses and provides a feeling of healing, nurturing, and fundamentally uplifting. By chanting, a devotee glorifies the supreme with Mantras and Bhajans that puts one in direct touch with Divinity. The sound of singing engulfs our ears and hearts. In Kirtan environment, devotees see the other chanters and perhaps stare at pictures of deities or divine personalities, inhale the smell of fresh flowers, play cymbals, or even clap their hands.
