CHICAGO: My family and I really enjoyed this latest run of the classic Aladdin. In a perennial reboot of the 1992 movie, Broadway has put together a spectacular performance at the Cadillac Palace theatre, live band, actors, directors, and the absolutely realistic effects. Every little thing from streamers blown out to the audience to the outfits to even the great Genie would probably make this musical the best you’ve ever seen.
The excitement of the crowd when we first entered the Cadillac Palace Theatre was thoroughly explained by the blood, sweat, and tears clearly poured put into this musical.
The luxurious theatre really set the mood for this opulent play. There were colorful costumes, a majestic score, and a tale as old as time. Children and adults of every age enjoyed the hilarious comic role of Genie, magical moments and romance on flying carpet.
Aladdin is truly a show that will continue to wow audiences with its realistic sets, grooving performances, and its phenomenal music and lyrics by Tim Rice. This theatre and this play are absolutely unmissable fun for the family.
Upcoming musicals in Chicago Broadway theaters such as hilarious “Something Rotten” and historical “King & I” would surely be worth watching.
