SUNNYVALE, CA: MMNA Sakhi (Maheshwari Mahasabha of North America) – North West Coast Chapter celebrated Women’s Day on March 9th, 2025 in Peppermint Restaurant in Sunnyvale, California.
Michelle Obama rightly said, “There is no limit to what we, as a woman, can accomplish”. Honoring this principle, the theme of the event was “Celebrating our Sakhi and the Sakhi Entrepreneurs”. Sakhis from all ages 25-80 attended the celebrations and had a wonderful time. It was a splendid time, with our Maheshwari Sakhi Panelist of Sunita Maheshwari, Sunita Raj and Shailja Maroo who shared their journey of becoming a successful entrepreneur and how they continue to thrive. There were other fun activities for Sakhis like finding other entrepreneurs in the community, Tol mol ke Bol and super fun Sakhi Shark tank – where they came up with an innovative product and marketed it through reels/ advertisement.
Sakhi Ritu Maheshwari was recognized for her decades long community work supporting victims of crime and domestic violence. She recently received Community Advocate Award from Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame for her untiring efforts in the field.
Kudos to Sakhi team – Kavita Malani and Ankita Phophalia, along with prominent volunteers, Sandhya Bagdi and Shruti Maheshwari, for this event, and for bringing the community together and continuing with the Sakhi goal of “Sikhna-Sikhana, Khelna-Khilana, Mauj-Manana”. Sakhi Kavita Malani quoted “The success of every woman should be an inspiration to another. We are strongest when we cheer each other” and said we will continue to bring the community together in similar future events.
Also MMNA Sakhis look forward to participate India Day Parade on Sunday, August 17th 2025.
