Municipal Corporation Commissioner meets Anti Corruption Cell delegation

PHAGWARA: A delegation of Anti Corruption Cell of Human Rights Council (India) led by Punjab President Raman Nehra met Municipal Corporation Commissioner Akshita Gupta. Raman Nehra welcomed the appointment of ADC Gupta in Phagwara and assured all possible cooperation in the cleanliness and development of Phagwara. During this, Raman Nehra and the delegation including Punjab Deputy President Mahinder Sethi, Nand Soni Pradhan District Kapurthala and Amarjit Singh Basuta District Deputy President apprised the Municipal Corporation Commissioner about the major problems of Phagwara city and appealed for solutions.

They demanded cleaning of Varinder Park located at Mehli Gate and removal of temporary garbage dump outside the park. Also, he apprised the corporation commissioner about the problems related to sewerage cleaning and repair of street lights in various areas. Raman Nehra told the corporation commissioner that garbage dumps have been made at many places in the densely populated areas of the city where garbage is not lifted for many days. These dumps not only spoil the beauty of the city but the flies and mosquitoes born in them are also a threat to the health of the people.

He also drew the attention of the ADC towards the stray animals and stray dogs. ADC Akshita Gupta assured that getting proper solution to all the problems related to the city is her priority for which efforts are being made. She also appealed to the common people to cooperate in increasing the beauty of the city and to plant trees to make the environment green. On this occasion, District Secretary Harvijay Kanda, Executive Member Rahul Bansal, Avtar Singh, Balraj Singh etc. were present.
