CHICAGO: Rajan Zed, a Hindu leader in the USA, has been bestowed with the “Global Hindu Statesman Award” by Jyoti B.Ed. College, a premier teacher-training institute in southwestern Punjab (India).
Zed, President of the Universal Society of Hinduism, was given this award during his visit to this College in Fazilka The citation on the Award said: for being the voice of Hindus worldwide, and bravely taking up many Hindu issues in various countries.
The citation further noted: for reading Hindu prayers in the United States Senate and US House-of-Representatives in Washington DC, and 292 other legislative bodies all over USA.
For efforts at providing worldwide Hindu identity & enhancing understanding of Hinduism; citation added.
This citation was signed by President Surinder Kumar Thakral, Secretary Roshan Lal Thakkar, and Principal Anita Arora of Jyoti B.Ed. College; whose Mission includes: “To train the students as socially sensitive, responsible & professionally skilled person.”
Hinduism, the oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about 1.2 billion adherents, and moksha (liberation) is its ultimate goal.
