CHICAGO: In a major development, more young Indian Americans are to joining mainstream US politics, the latest entrant is Ricky Gandhi.
Ricky announced his candidacy for Illinois State Assembly seeking to be a State Representative from 32District, and he has been actively seeking extensive support from his constituents and Indian Americans across Chicagoland. He called a press meeting at Mysore Woodland restaurant on Devon Avenue area knows as mini India town.
Ricky Gandhi said that he would be doing a door-to-door campaign and working at the grassroots level. He’s meeting community people on a regular basis throughout the 32nd district, including Englewood, Hickory, Half of Burbank, Bridgeview, etc. The 28-year-old Ricky Gandhi was born and raised in Burbank, a Chicago suburb He strongly pitched for support and enlisting volunteers to do phone talks, door to door campaigning. Getting endorsements, spread the word about his campaign, get community validation, and capping it all support him financially through fundraising.
Pritesh Gandhi, CEO of Waterford, is hosting a fundraiser for Ricky Gandhi on February 20 at the Waterford Banquets, 933 S. Riverside, Elmhurst, a Chicago suburb.
Several Community leaders joined the Multi-Ethnic Advisory Task Force ( MEATF) &American Multi-Ethnic Coalition (AMEC) in endorsing his candidacy for State Rep at the press meet event. MsAnicaDubey was the event chair and he did a splendid job as Emcee and introduced the speakers and the candidate.
