CHICAGO: The Grayslake Hindu Mandir organized an impressive Samohik Satyanarayana Katha on Saturday December 20 to thank Lord Satyanarayana for all good things given in the year 2014 and seek his blessings for the year 2015 for peace and prosperity.
More than 150 devotees from different Indian communities gathered for the Katha with all the devotion and religious fervor. Mrs Savita Joshi, Kamlesh Desai and Avinash Kotagi created a spiritual atmosphere by their devotional Bhajans.
All the devotees did their Sankalpam for Shree Satyanarayana Swami Ji Puja as narrated by Pandit Anil Joshi.
Pt. Joshi involved all the devotees in the pujan of Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu and Laxmi, Shree Satyanarayana, and Navagrah and asked them to chant all the Mantras along with him.
Ganapati and Shree Satyanarayana Ashtotram were chanted by Laxmi Narayana and Vishwanathan. After Puja, Pt. Joshi narrated the Katha in a very devotional way and explained the inner message given by Lord Vishnu to Narad Ji on how to perform Shree Satyanarayana Puja. He said that this puja should be performed by a creditable Brahman with devotion and pure heart by inviting all the relatives and friends.
Pt. Joshi narrated from the Shlokas of Ramayana on what is Bhakti and how we can attain it. Finally he blessed all the devotees that their New Year be filled with all the happiness, health, wealth and peace.
President Harsh Kumar thanked profusely all the devotees for their active participation and generous support to the temple. After Aarti, mouthwatering Maha Prasad was served to the devotees.
