CHICAGO: Members of United Senior Pariwar, Chicago, hosted a grand Musical Evening with Shailendra Bhatnagar, Mihir Acharya, Mrs Jigna Pathak and Ms Mangla. More than 300 seniors enjoyed the evening at Swaminarayan Temple in Wheeling on Saturday December 15.
Secretary Ramesh Chokshi welcomed all members and honored guests, Mafatbhai Patel, Advisory committee member Sureshbhai Shah, Rohitbhai Joshi, Mrs. Ushaben Kamariya and Hiteshbhai Desai of Air tours.
Lamp lighting – the Deep Pragtya – was done by Chairman Mafatbhai Patel, Advisor Sureshbhai Shah, President Ramanbhai Patel, Vice president Chhitubhai Patel, Treasurer Hasmukhbhai Soni, Secretary Ramesh Chokshi, Shailendra Bhattnagar, Jigna Pathak and Manglaji. Slokas were chanted by Acharya Rohitbhai Joshi.
Ramesh Chokshi introduced Sureshbhai Shah, who retired as secretary in May 2014 saying that Shah was a pioneer member of this organization and was a one of the pillars to establish this organization. He worked as secretary from March 2008 to May 2014. After that he became a member of Advisory committee. Mafatbhai Patel presented plaque to Sureshbhai Shah for his dedicated and selfless services to the community.
President Ramanbhai Patel and Mrs Kantaben Patel also honored Shah by presenting shawl and flowers. Replying to the honor, Sureshbhai Shah  thanked all board trustees, Advisory committee members and Executive committee members . He assured that he would still work with committee members. He also talked about new laws of SSI and Obama Care, Medicare and Medicaid.
Ramesh Chokshi introduced Treasurer Hasmukhbhai Soni who is also retiring this year. He said that Hasmukhbhai was a pioneer member of this organization and took active part to establish this organization in 2008. He worked as a treasurer since 2010. Ramanbhai Patel presented a plaque to Hasmukhbhai, Vice president Chhitubhai Patel and Mrs Manjulaben Patel honored him by presenting shawl.
Hasmukhbhai Soni thanked all trustee board members, advisory committee members, executive committee members, volunteers, management of Wheeling temple and singers. Kanubhai Patel greeted Mafatbhai Patel by presenting flowers, Mafatbhai Patel gave a small speech and offered greetings for Christmas and coming New Year.
Ramanbhai Patel talked about the start of the organization and said that it was established to serve the community at large and seniors in particular. Â Virendra Patel greeted Ushaben Kamaria by presenting flowers. Ushben proposed a vote of thanks.
Well known singers of Chicago Shailendra Bhatt Nagar, Mihir Acharya, Mrs Jigna Pathak and Manglaji entertained all with Bollywood songs, Gujaratigeet and Garba. In the end everyone enjoyed delicious dinner of Swami Narayan Temple.
