CUPERTINO, CA: On May 22, the “Shaan Live in concert” arrived at the Flint Center, Cupertino. This was part of a month long International tour, Shaan and his team performed in an effort to raise money for Sankara Eye Foundation, the host of the event.
Shantanu Mukheerjee, famously known as Shaan, has created his name in the music world with his versatile singing style. He also known as an anchor on many shows such as ZeeTV’s “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa”. He hails from a musically talented family, which comes as no surprise that he is a lyricist, music composer and has judged many reality-singing competitions. The press conference for the show was held on May 21 at San Jose Marriott.
When it comes to working the stage or the audience, there are few as good as the Bollywood singer Shaan. When you talk of a “performance” in his context, it’s not just singing but a mix of acting, mimicry, dancing and singing.
The show opened with some of Shaan’s popular songs like Jabh Se Tere Naina (Saawariya), Daastan-e (Om Shanti Om), Shikhdum (Dhoom), Hey Shona (Ta Ra Rum Pum), Mein Hoon Don (Don), Chand Sifarish (Fanna) and many others. Ambili Menon, an upcoming singer and power house performer, enthralled the audience with a vast repertoire of songs for more than three hours, including recent hits as well as some evergreen numbers from an era gone by.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’s Lil Champs on Zee TV, Gagan Gaonkar and Arunita Kanjilal left one speechless with their multitude of talents and mesmerizing numbers. Shaan paid tribute to legendary singers, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi.
The concert was a great success, filled with high energy performances as well as touching moments. The audience was entertained brilliantly by all the performances throughout the three and half hour concert. The proceeds from this concert will benefit a wonderful organization, Sankara Eye Foundation, in its goal of eradicating preventable blindness in India.
