Brief Profile: Shri Parag Desai was a highly accomplished and experienced entrepreneur who steered the Wagh Bakri Tea Group to become one of India’s leading packaged tea companies. He held a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Long Island University and has earned numerous awards and accolades for his outstanding achievements in marketing and branding. Mr. Desai was a skilled tea taster and has played a pivotal role in launching new products and brands in both the Indian and international markets.
Under his dynamic leadership, the Wagh Bakri Tea Group has diversified into new markets and formats, including the successful launch of Wagh Bakri Tea Lounges and Wagh Bakri Tea World. Mr.Desai was an active member of various industrial associations, including CII, FICCI, GCCI and more, and, was a prolific speaker, and a respected voice within the industry.
He has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to the industry, receiving prestigious awards such as the Marketing Man of the Year from the Ahmedabad Management Association and the Family Business Legacy Award from the President and Prime Minister of India. Recently, Shri Parag Desai was honored at Maha Sanman by Zee News Gujarati, by the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel.
Mr. Parag Desai was a highly respected and influential entrepreneur who has made substantial contributions to the growth and success of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group and the tea industry in India and the industry will miss him dearby.
