CHICAGO: The SRS Medical Clinic hosted a Free Medical Health Fair last week, with an impressive turnout of volunteer medical professionals.
The event was graced by the presence of five dedicated nurses and 15 doctors, each specializing in various fields such as General Practice, Rheumatology, Mental Health, Pain Management, Dental Care, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Neurology, Optometry, and Pharmacy.
The roster of compassionate doctors included Dr. Amrit Anand, Dr. Navdeep Bhatti, Dr. Naina Batish, Dr. Jasvinder Chawla, Dr. Prempreet Bajaj, Dr. Amrit Virk, Dr. Annie Bajaj, Dr. Neil Chandok, Dr. Navjit Snghera, Dr. Raman Bhakhri, Dr. Ritu Talwar, Dr. Vikramjit Gill, Dr. Hargurmukh Pal Singh, Dr. Dharm Bains and Dr. Amarjit, who selflessly dedicated their time and expertise to serve the community.
This endeavor wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of the diligent nursing staff, including Neetu Kaur, Gagan Singh, Amrita Randhawa and Anchalpreet Kahlon, Carlien Van Jaarsveld, whose assistance was invaluable throughout the event. Supported by Harsimran Singh, Vikramjit Singh, and Lukas.
Furthermore, the collaboration with the Illinois College of Optometry brought additional resources to the fair. Dr. Navi and Dr. Raman, along with their team of students, brought in specialized equipment and lent their expertise, ensuring that the optometry services ran seamlessly from start to finish.
One of the most remarkable aspects was its accessibility, as no insurance or any payment was required. This inclusive approach allowed many members of the community to benefit from free consultations and second opinions, thereby fulfilling the clinic’s mission of serving the sangat with compassion and care.
SRS free Medical clinic is open every Sunday from 10 AM to 11 AM Mental Health focus, and then the regular medical doctor from 11 AM to Noon. Monthly schedule is published and is available on the door of the clinic as well as via SRS newsletter.
