WASHINGTON DC: Congressman Steve Chabot of Ohio’s first Congressional District and Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business has said that America is strong when small businesses are strong.
He was speaking at event hosted in Reston, VA that has in attendance many prominent business entrepreneurs doing business with the Federal Government, and members of USINPAC.
Thanking the attendees, Chairman Chabot observed that the mission of the Small Business Committee is to facilitate the growth of small businesses and their ability to do business with the Federal government.
Participants expressed concerns, and offered solutions, about delays and cancellations of project proposals by Federal agencies. Congressman Chabot said that his staff would follow up and that he would arrange a hearing to draw more attention to the issues raised by the small business community.
Sanjay Puri, president of the US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) said “Congressman Chabot has shown a great willingness to work with us to address the issues of small companies that are now finding themselves competing with large companies who are consolidating or partnering to make it harder for small businesses to win their share of Federal Government contracts and we thank him for his support.”
USINPAC is the voice for over 3.2 million Indian-Americans. It supports candidates for local, state and federal office, encourages political participation by the Indian-American community and is a resource for Federal agencies, lawmakers, and Congressional staff.
Congressman Chabot has served as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, which have broad jurisdiction for US policy affecting India
