IRVING TX: Organized by Jain Samaj North Texas (JSNT), the generous donations made by members some degree of relief being sent to India for COVID-19 where a large part of the country is still struggling for lack of medical facilities and equipment
Sadly, in the current Covid cases, the mortality rate has been hugely up, especially in the age group of 25-45 years. JSNT understanding its responsibility to fellow brothers and sisters left no stone unturned in ensuring that Donations from members reach the needy directly by partnering with local NGOs. Some of the efforts made by JSNT so far:
JSNT has partnered with Humanist Group in Bangalore, India to set up field hospitals and medical facilities. Active Fundraising on the Board – JSNT, IIM Alumni and Indigenous Citizens in the US Seamless logistics and customs clearance by various groups Field Hospital and Medical Facility established in Bangalore delivered 33 Oxygen Concentrators
However, these efforts are not enough and it plans continuing to find more ways to help those who are struggling. JSNT appealed to all members, their families, friends and colleagues (who have the resources to donate but lack logistics), to come forward and donate as much as possible.
All donations for this purpose will be used 100% for India’s relief efforts. The donation is tax deductible up to $ 600. If one would like to donate more than $ 5,000 to a specific non-profit charity in India, JSNT will facilitate. Any feedback and suggestions are welcome to relief@dfwjains.org

It also expressed gratitude to JAINA and the library for making all the schoolbooks available online. Kids and teachers made good use of the Google Classroom platform to share content
