Hindu Temple and Heritage Foundation (HTHF), located in the City of Pasadena, was founded in 2003 with the goal of nourishing the Indian culture 8000 miles away from the country. In the last 20 years, it has provided a place not only to pray but also to celebrate festivals and help the community with its services.
HTHF conducts different programs to enrich the second-generation children with our culture and values, which has been passed on for thousands of years. More than 100 students attend classes on language, dance, singing and yoga. According the Temple President Dr Manju Kumar, the children who had been groomed at the Heritage Foundation were not only placed very well in their respective professions but had excelled in public life and have become community leaders. This was all due to grooming children at an early age providing a strong community support.Several festivals are celebrated during the year with hundreds of community members attend along with other communities.
The community has grown exponentially in the last 2 decades and there is a need for a bigger building to accommodate all the classes and events hosted there. The new building plan had also been approved by City of Pasadena.
Recently, HTHF hosted a wonderful musical evening with well-known singer Nauzad to raise funds for the first phase of temple construction. Hindu Temple and Heritage Foundation now seeks the community to come forward to support the completion of the proposed expansion to accommodate the growing demand so it can serve the next generation better.
The center has acquired a larger space next to the temple and the total estimated cost for new facilities is $6 million as per the trustees of the temple. It is surely going to add another feather in the cap of the already rich heritage of the City of Pasadena.
